I agree that HTML, CSS and JS are more of a problem than HTTP as this author suggests gemini://ebc.li/rambling/alternative-web.gmi

The vision for gmi-web is to abstract those things into something as simple as #gemini in a standardish way and then idc if you use Gemini or HTTP really, I happen to prefer Gemini clients.
